This policy describes what information ContractorRanks ("we", "us") collects when you visit contractorranks.com, what we do with it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

We do not require an account, email signup, or any personal information to read articles or download templates on this site. The information we do receive comes from three sources:

  • Server logs and analytics. Our hosting provider records standard request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL, referrer, and timestamp — for security and aggregate traffic reporting. This data is used to understand which pages are popular and to detect abuse. We do not sell server log data.
  • Core Web Vitals. Anonymous performance measurements (page load speed, layout stability, interaction responsiveness) may be collected by Cloudflare Web Analytics using your browser's Performance API. These measurements do not identify you and are not tied to a persistent identifier.
  • Affiliate click tracking. When you click an outbound link to a software vendor, that vendor's affiliate platform may set a cookie or pass an identifier so the vendor can attribute your eventual signup to us. We do not see your account details with that vendor — only whether a click occurred and, in aggregate, whether it converted.

What we do not do

  • We do not require email signups or paywall content.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with brokers.
  • We do not run third-party advertising networks on the site.
  • We do not track you across other websites.

Cookies

The site itself sets no first-party tracking cookies. Some outbound affiliate links may set a third-party cookie when you click them; this is controlled by the vendor, not by us. You can block these cookies in your browser without affecting your ability to read the site.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal information that identifies you, there is generally nothing on file for us to delete or export at your request. If you believe we hold identifying information about you, contact us at the address below.

Children

ContractorRanks is intended for trade contractors and small-business operators. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.

Changes

If we change this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top of the page will reflect it. Substantive changes will be flagged on the homepage or via a notice on this page.
